I went to Fan Expo on Saturday, which is possible the busiest day of the 3-day convention. The convention hall was filled with cosplays of anime, comic and horror characters. I took this opportunity to take lots of pictures of the cosplays.
What Fan Expo is all about:
Toronto, Canada’s Fan Expo Canada is an annual multigenre fan convention. It was founded as the Canadian National Comic Book Expo in 1994 by Hobby Star Marketing Inc.
Along with panels, seminars, and workshops with comic book professionals, there are previews of upcoming feature films, portfolio review sessions with top comic book and video game companies, and evening events such as The Masquerade; a costume contest, and the Diamond Distribution Industry Night Dinner and reception for industry professionals only.
Here are the highlights from my photo shoot.
Young Link (Kid)
This was the youngest cosplay I saw at the show. She was definitely the show magnet. Everyone around her adored her.
Storm Troopers
Storm troopers were all over the first floor in the convention. At all times, there would be at least one storm trooper on the floor. I think they have a set schedule for their time to patrol the convention.
Batman Villian Group
Whenever the high pitch Joker’s voice yells “Pooooose change!”, all his villian friends would give me their most devious looks. I happen to capture this particular shot when Scarescrow was pointing at one of the other camera man.
One Piece Team
Stunning cosplay with awesome weapons.

Excellent pictures. You have a great eye for composition. I like your style. Most of my pictures where an attempt to get the whole costume, but you really captured a sense of intimacy with most of your subjects.
The Storm Troopers are almost always part of the 501st Legion: Vader’s Fist (http://www.501st.com/). I think you are right about there being a schedule.
In the X-Men mythos, Gambit was usually involved with Rogue, but that is not the character that woman is dressed as (I don’t recognize her).

Ackson is a great guy. He let me borrow a few camera gears during the convention. In fact, he asked me to tag along with him on the photo shoot with the burst angel cosplay. I just want to clarify that the shots above are from my camera.

We have another friend that shot with us that day. He had a wide angle lens, which resulted in some awesome shots in different perspectives. Stay tune for his shots. I will link it in my post as soon as he uploads the pictures.
