Massive Delay at Pearson Airport

The security breach event that unfolded on Christmas day in US has caused massive delay in the Toronto Pearson Airport.

I was stuck at the airport for two days while waiting for my flight to Chicago. At the end, I had to cancel our trip.

UPDATE: Our scheduled flight to Chicago for 10AM was cancelled at 7:30PM today. The cancellation comes in 9 and a half hours later!

This shot was snapped at the gate to the US custom border. The line up was told to be 5-6 hours long. Notice in the picture that the line is at "H". The line up actually ended at "A".

While we were waiting in the airport, we were told a lot of different information.

"The wait time here is estimated to be 5-6 hours.

If we cancel your flight, we will tell you 9 hours after you start waiting.

If you need to cancel your flight and get your refund, please leave the airport and go home.

If you are thirsty, have a complimentary free water. If you are hungry, buy a $10 sandwich at the food court. "

Delay at Pearson

Everyone camping to wait for the faith of their flight. Some passengers have weddings to catch. Others were attending hockey games. But most passenger was simply trying to catch their connecting flights in the US to get back to their own countries.

This reminds me of the movie "The Terminal", where Tom Hanks lived temporary in the JFK airport.

135 flights were canceled today!
