The Clothing Show is a gathering of independent fashion designers, artists and models to celebrate the indie clothing industry in Toronto. The Clothing Show is a 3 day event. If you register at the front as a student photographer, you get to go in for free. Otherwise, the entrance fee is $10 per person.
The runway was filled with photographers taking pictures. I stayed for two runway shows and shot a few pictures. This is my first fashion runway shoot. On my camera, I had a 430EX flash with a 85mm f1.2 mounted on a Canon T1i body. Overall, I am satisfied with the pictures but I do see a lot of leg room for improvements.

Lessons learned from this photoshoot
- Use a flash with a diffuser to soften the subject and reduce unbalanced lighting.
- Being in the right spot will get you the shot. Arrive earlier next time to reserve spot.
- Use a Zoom lens. It was very difficult to shoot moving subjects with a prime lens.
